Site Redesign and SEO Optimization

Example Site Redesign Summary

Before

In this case, our client wanted to modernize their site and focus on a consistent look throughout all site content. In addition, their "old" site was poorly displaying on mobile devices, and lacked a nice main navigation menu. Marcom Masters did a full redesign, using existing content where possible to minimize the impact on SEO.

The other goal was to reposition the company brand, focusing on a new business unit which offered services to the Telecom Industry, such as logistics and customer device testing. Also, along with Corporate e-Recycling services, our client wanted to offer recycling drop-off services to the local Columbus, Ohio consumer market. MM's redesign accomplished all of these goals from a design standpoint, and MM's SEO optimization helped to reposition the client for these areas, while enhancing SEO for the existing Corporate e-Recycling business. MM also enhanced Local SEO by adding content related to Consumer e-Recycling, targeted at surrounding communities to Columbus.

In the screens below, you can see a before and after view of the main changes to the components, look-and-feel, and navigation of the site.

The resulting design made changes to the main menu of the site, adding visual contrast to all menu items, while also expanding the drop-down menu to focus on the new business units and the overall company brand.

The home page was redesigned to have a carousel section, where current key messages and events could be highlighted. In addition, a "Services" section was added, with a clean, modern look that showcased all services at a single glance. This helped reduce the bounce rate on the home page, as users were able to quickly see the relevant services offered, and then could navigate directly to those pages.

The new design also provided an accurate mobile view, so that users coming in on a mobile phone or tablet would have the same polished, professional look-and-feel as the desktop site. New sections were added to maximize visibility of the capabilities of the client, and to enhance the SEO value of the site by providing targeted content and new industry resource sections. A site audit was performed to ensure the technical viability of the site, so that it quickly began ranking higher on critical areas that the client wanted to focus on. After the redesign, the site audit was well above the industry standard, and ongoing site maintenance monitored the technical capabilities of the site. Best Practices were implemented for new content creation, and all new content focused on enhancing SEO and establishing a relevance for all targeted business units.
