Site Redesign and SEO Optimization

Static Home Page Banner vs. Rotating Carousel

Before

The original site was lacking a few key items on the home page, so MM looked to provide a redesign of the key top half of the page. The old design had a static banner, which while attractive, was too static and limited in messaging and branding. The old banner was also long and narrow, taking up valuable and critical real estate on the home page.

In line with a rebranding of the client, MM looked to provide more dynamic content, while maintaining the branding "feel" of the original site, to keep a familiarity of their customers with the company. The key was to offer this more dynamic, modern feel to this section of the site. Along with navigation, for many visitors, this is the first thing seen when going to the site. So, the overall goal was to offer a cleaner, dynamic vision of what the client offers and who they are as a company. We also wanted to provide a way to showcase current news and events.

In the screens below, you can see a before and after view of the main changes to the home page top imagery, look-and-feel, and navigation of the site. You can drag the slider left and right to see the comparison of old vs. new content and design.

The resulting design made changes to the top section of the home page. By adding a rotating carousel, the client could offer multiple products and services, as well as showcasing current news and upcoming events. In general, the carousel allows for 4-5 messaging points that rotate automatically, or could be scrolled by the user,

The images used here matched the clean, corporate look of all other images and videos throughout the redesigned site. Links to the various sections allows visitors to quickly see products, services and interesting news available on the new site. The dynamic nature of the carousel gave the client a flexible and quick-hitting way to brand themselves.

Along with the change, the client was encouraged to rotate content regularly, to keep the visitor experience fresh and relevant.
