Home Page Content - General Description vs. Service Offerings

Initially, this part of the home page was focused on a very generic description of the company. MM felt that this content belonged more logically in the "Company" section of the site. It is more important on the home page to catch the visitors interest with a one-step look at the services they came to the site to find. This lowers bounce rates by capturing the visitors interest quickly and providing them with content to encourage a deeper look at what they might need.  It is also helpful for SEO to have relevant content presented with more opportunity to offer keywords describing what the site has to offer.   

We also felt that the photograph of the company founder was better placed within the company section of the site. Instead we looked for imagery that was more representative of the services and industry that the client serves.  This opportunity to provide more branding of the client on prime home page real estate needed to be optimized.

Marcom Masters took this opportunity to build a cohesive visual memory for the visitors for the various services being offered. By providing a list of services and products offered, with a short description of each, visitors are more likely to quickly find what they are looking for, and go deeper into the site. This leads to more conversions, and a better initial impression of the client as one with diverse offerings. 

As you can see above, the new look provides a clean, modern look to the site. All services are represented, with imagery that is carried over when the visitor goes to the individual pages linked to the services section. This way, users have a visual cue that they are in a particular section of the web site.   

Additionally, by using relevant and professional-looking images, the first impression of a visitor is one of professionalism and a modern, technologically advanced company. This is a critical point for a technology company, where the tools are so important to the services performed. Feedback from the client, as well as a distinct increase in traffic and conversions confirmed this strategy as being effective.
